Mimecast Opens New North American Headquarters

    Company Expands Boston U.S. Headquarters and Plans 30 Percent Local Headcount Growth in 2013

     WATERTOWN, Mass. —  Mimecast® announced today the opening of its new 33,669 square foot North American headquarters in Boston to support its rapid expansion in the United States. Mimecast, the leading supplier of cloud-based email archiving, continuity and security for Microsoft Exchange, hosted Exchange and Office 365, will have over 200 U.S. employees by the end of the year, including a 30 percent headcount increase in Boston. The move to its new U.S. headquarters follows the opening of new offices in Chicago and Dallas, and a larger space in San Francisco announced earlier this month. Mimecast’s North American operations have been based in Boston since 2008.

    Mimecast’s new office is located at 480 Pleasant Street in the former Boston Scientific Building, and represents an increase of over 90 percent in space from the company’s previous office in the Waltham Watch Factory. The space features a 152-seat auditorium and an open floor plan complete with several meeting rooms and demo rooms to help promote open collaboration. While designing the new space, the company also wanted to provide several wellness options for Mimecast employees and the new office includes eight sleeping beds with relaxation bean bags, yoga and workout studio, a wellness room for personal use and an on-site wellness expert to help address employees’ health questions and needs.
