PwC names Mimecast in top 100 UK software companies
Mimecast ranked number 57 in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Software 100 report
Mimecast®, a leading supplier of cloud-based email security, continuity and archiving, today announced that it has been ranked the 57th largest software vendor in the UK in PwC’s Software 100 report. The Software 100 report, a ranking of the largest software vendors in the UK, uses licence, maintenance and support revenue to rank the leading software businesses in the UK. Mimecast was ranked ahead of names such as The Logic Group, Strategic Thought Group and Clearswift.
Mimecast’s CEO, Peter Bauer, commented; "To be named as one of the UK’s top 100 software businesses is a reflection of the company’s significant achievements over recent years and a great endorsement of all the hard work done by the entire Mimecast team. The success of cloud computing has changed the outlook of the Software 100 for the UK in 2010 as more businesses embrace the cost, security and scalability benefits that the Cloud offers.”
Raman Chitkara, a Global Technology Industry Leader from PwC, commenting on the report said; "Today's digital consumer, whether customer, employee, vendor or partner, is driving rapid change in the software market. The companies that recognise and embrace these new ways of working and interacting will likely be the future leaders. The resurgence of capital markets, including venture capital and private equity investments, along with technologies such as cloud computing, are helping to keep innovation alive within the sector. Consolidation in the industry continues at a torrid pace as companies continually re-evaluate their strategic priorities and inorganically fill important gaps in their product offerings.”
