New Software-as-a-Service integration with Microsoft Outlook aims to stop all email disruptions  

    Mimecast, the number one Software-Plus-Services Partner for Microsoft Exchange and Outlook, is announcing a new enhancement to its email archival, security and continuity service that offers users the ability to continue to send and receive emails natively within Microsoft Outlook during planned or unplanned Microsoft Exchange outages. The latest solution, Mimecast Services for Outlook will be previewed at the Business Continuity Expo on April 2nd on stand number 210. The system ensures that, in the event of failure of the primary Exchange server, the user will automatically be switched to Mimecast’s online email service without any intervention from the IT administrator or user.

    The latest innovation from the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider of unified email management, offers organisations of all sizes continuous email availability as part of a simple and affordable pay-as-you-go service. The service is quick and easy to connect to and includes ten years email archival, instant e-discovery, protection from spam, viruses and email-borne malware and continuity. This unified email management service is all delivered at a fraction of the cost of alternative on-premise solutions.  

    Mimecast Services for Outlook - overview:

    • A seamless continuity service for all Microsoft Outlook users within an organisation
    • As system is ‘always-on’ it removes the requirement for any human intervention to invoke the service in the event of any email server downtime

    New and existing Mimecast customers using the ‘Multi’ service will receive the new Mimecast Services for Outlook enhancement free of charge as part of their service package. Prices for the unified email management services from Mimecast start at £20 per user, per year, based on an organisation with 1,000 employees.
