Mimecast announced as finalist in Legal Technology Awards 2008
Mimecast, a provider of web-based email management services, has today announced that they have been shortlisted as a finalist in the Legal Technology Awards 2008. Mimecast is nominated for the “Online Product of the Year” category in recognition of its work with almost 1 in 3 of the Top 100 UK legal firms.
Mimecast currently supplies its web-based unified email management service to leading UK law firms, including Taylor Wessing, Charles Russell and Osborne Clarke. The service allows firms to consolidate the number of suppliers and servers for email storage, archiving, security and continuity to just one, enabling significant cost savings. The unified email management service requires no on-site hardware or software, providing “always-on” email and 24/7 availability, that can be deployed at a fraction of the cost of software based appliances or managed service alternatives.
Mimecast’s solution is able to capture all forensic data about the transmission of emails, which is now admissible as evidence in court, in a manner that is completely tamper-proof. This is a key requirement for law firms and Mimecast is the only email management service that offers full forensic trace information.
Commenting on being nominated as finalists, Peter Bauer, CEO of Mimecast, said: “We are delighted to be a finalist for the Legal Technology awards and it’s a great honour for us to be recognised for our services within the legal sector. We have become a trusted service provider for many of these firms who not only rely on Mimecast for “always-on” access to e-mail but also need a safe, watertight means of storing and tracking e-mails. With UK regulations for data retention gradually become more stringent, it is becoming increasingly important for firms to be able to track their emails forensically.”
Winners of the Legal Technology Awards will be announced at the Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel in London on 31st January 2008.
Mimecast delivers cloud-based email management for Microsoft Exchange, including archiving, continuity and security. By unifying disparate and fragmented email environments into one holistic solution that is always available from the cloud, Mimecast minimizes risk and reduces cost and complexity, while providing total end-to-end control of email. Founded in the United Kingdom in 2003, Mimecast serves approximately 4,000 customers worldwide and has offices in Europe, North America, Africa and the Channel Islands.
