Mimecast Receives Security Certification ISO/IEC 27001:2013

Commitment to supply chain security and secure software development recognized with international certification

May 12, 2015 – Mimecast, the cloud email archiving, continuity and security service provider, today announced that it has been awarded the ISO/IEC 27001: 2013 certification.

In recent years, ISO/IEC 27001 and accompanying ISO/IEC 27002 have been revised. The new version is the first revision since ISO/IEC 27001:2005 and puts more emphasis on measuring and evaluating how well an organization’s information security management system is performing.

Mimecast was previously ISO 27001:2005 certified but updated to the 2013 version that includes increased emphasis on product development controls and maintaining a secure supply chain. The certification covers the service platform, product, infrastructure, support, operational services and facilities in all of Mimecast’s regions around the world.

“ISO 27001 is globally recognized as the best framework to demonstrate audited and continual improvement and on-going security management” said Neil Murray, Chief Technology Officer at Mimecast.

“The updated standard reflects Mimecast’s commitment to supply chain security, business continuity for our customers and the governance, development, verification and deployment of our software and services,” added Murray.

Mimecast Mailbox Continuity ensures employees can continue using email during planned and unplanned outages.
