Mimecast®, a leading supplier of cloud-based email security, continuity and archiving, has announced the appointment of Nessa Lynchehaun as its new Channel Director for the UK and Ireland. Lynchehaun will be tasked with recruiting new partners as well as maintaining existing relationships with strategic partners such as Softcat, Kelway, Eurodata, Computacenter, Cable&Wireless Worldwide and Telefónica O2 Ireland.
Lynchehaun has been at Mimecast since April 2008, when she joined as Territory Manager before later moving into the role of UK Partner Manager. Previously, Lynchehaun spent time in working in the IT industry in Ireland and USA for the likes of Websense, NetIQ Europe and IONA Technologies.
Julian Martin, who previously headed up Mimecast’s channel activities, has taken on a new role within the company as VP Business Development.
“In the three years I’ve been with Mimecast, we’ve enjoyed phenomenal growth and that’s been due to a product that is clearly differentiated from the competition, and a strong commitment to building and maintaining relationships with existing and potential partners,” said Lynchehaun. “I’m hugely excited to take up this new role and hope to continue to develop long-term, mutually valuable relationships with our channel partners. At a time when much of the channel feels threatened by cloud technology, Mimecast continues to protect margins for our partners and help them add value for their customers.”
Peter Bauer, CEO of Mimecast, said: “At Mimecast, we rely on our partners for 100% of our sales activities so having a strong channel team is absolutely vital. Nessa has done great work with our partners in her time at Mimecast and it was therefore an easy decision to promote her to the UK Channel Director role. I am delighted to announce this new appointment and am sure that Nessa will help our channel go from strength to strength in the coming months and years.”
