Mimecast reinforces management team with experienced sales duo
Mimecast Services Ltd., a provider of web-based email management services, has announced the appointments of two former SurfControl senior managers, to head up their sales team.
Julian Martin, Mimecast’s new UK & Europe Business Development Director, is recognised as a technically astute market expert with a keen interest in emerging technologies and innovations – one of the key drivers for joining Mimecast. One of his best known achievements was establishing the UK channel at the start of his six year term at SurfControl, before then successfully taking responsibility for EMEA/Global Alliance Partners and OEM business. In that role he helped establish and develop a strong relationship between SurfControl and Microsoft which drove significant revenues for both partners. His reputation as an executive that drives markets is well known due to an extensive knowledge of all aspects of sales, operations, marketing and a proven ability to develop both product and go to market strategies. Julian recently passed over an opportunity to run his own technology start-up in order to join the Mimecast team.
Alan Kenny, an established sales professional with extensive experience in heading up direct and channel sales teams, has been appointed as Mimecast’s UK & European Sales Director. Few of his contemporaries have made such an impact in such a short space of time, winning the mutual respect of his peers and the channel community alike in 10 years of industry service. With previous placements at both Vistorm and SurfControl, Alan was an instrumental figure in the transition of the SurfControl business model from a predominantly direct sales organisation to a completely channel-focused model.
