Mimecast Services for Outlook - overview:

    • A seamless continuity service for all Microsoft Outlook users within an organisation
    • As system is ‘always-on’ it removes the requirement for any human intervention to invoke the service in the event of any email server downtime
    • Removes the need for clustered Microsoft Exchange
    • Users have instant, and easily searchable, access to all archived emails for the last 10 years
    • Allows the IT department time to fix any email server issues as all users continue to send and receive emails as normal within their current session of Microsoft Outlook

Peter Bauer, CEO of Mimecast comments, “Our always-on continuity service is greatly enhanced with this new Microsoft Outlook integration by making it totally seamless with the program commonly used and supported. It helps organisations protect their investment in Microsoft based email technologies. The dangers of any email failure affecting the reputational, regulatory and commercial status of a company are significantly mitigated.”  He adds, “The latest enhancement to our service eliminates the need for costly and complex redundant servers and RAID systems. The Mimecast service means that the users’ email services continue unaffected during a server outage leaving the IT manager free to concentrate on fixing the problem or carrying out the routine server maintenance without users complaining about email downtime.”

Tim Hyman, Head of IT at top International law firm Taylor Wessing and user of the Mimecast unified email management service adds; “Users are no longer interrupted by outages and we have a seamless continuity service that allows my team to be more confident about how they interact with the mail server. We have experienced a significant change in attitude compared to how we have worked in the past. With the new Mimecast Services for Outlook integration we can now contemplate routine maintenance during normal business hours because we know that even if the worst was to happen our people will not stop sending or receiving emails. This means we can be more experimental and push the boundaries in finding new efficiencies regarding our email management practices.”

New and existing Mimecast customers using the ‘Multi’ service will receive the new Mimecast Services for Outlook enhancement free of charge as part of their service package. Prices for the unified email management services from Mimecast start at £20 per user, per year, based on an organisation with 1,000 employees.
