Mimecast expands into Asia Pacific with new office in Melbourne

    Cloud-based information management specialist will add 25 new roles over the next year

    Melbourne, Australia. – July 18 2013 – Mimecast today announced the opening of its first regional APAC office in Melbourne, Victoria.  The company is the leading supplier of cloud-based email archiving, continuity and security, for Microsoft Exchange, hosted Exchange and Office 365. Mimecast expects to have 25 employees based in Australia within the next year. Last September, Mimecast received $62m in Series C funding from New York-based Insight Partners to support international expansion and technical development.

    Heading up the Australian team is Country Manager, Nicholas Lennon. Nicholas has been with Mimecast since 2007, leading business development in Europe and the company’s growth in Hosted Exchange. Joining Nicholas in Melbourne are Olivia Dempster as Channel Sales Manager and Alison O’Hare as Customer Engagement Director. All three are focused on Australian customers and will support the company’s continued expansion into this region.

    The Australian office opening completes Mimecast’s global support structure for customers and channel partners. Customers in Australia can now access Mimecast’s expert local technical and support teams, backed by Mimecast’s industry leading 100 percent continuity of service SLA (Service Level Agreement).

    Mimecast’s channel partners are assured of a channel focused model from the outset, supported by dedicated assistance developing profitable cloud businesses.
