Protect your organization with encryption for email.
Encryption for email is a critical part of IT security today. Employees must frequently share highly sensitive information with colleagues and partners, and unless they're sending encrypted email, that information is at risk of being exposed to inadvertent or intentional data leaks. Encryption for email technology can help to protect users and the organization by better safeguarding information like financial records, customer data, new product blueprints and future business plans.
Traditionally, solutions for encryption for email have involved added administrative burden or complicated end user client installation requirements. As a result, sensitive data is not sent through secure encrypted email as often as it should be.
Mimecast Secure Messaging solves this challenge by providing an easy-to-use, cloud-based secure channel for sending and receiving protected messages.
Mimecast Secure Messaging provides an easy way for users and organizations to access encryption for email. To send an encrypted message, users simply need to click a Send Secure option before sending an email. Once the email is sent, the content and any attachments are securely uploaded to the Mimecast cloud where they are scanned for malware and checked against data leak prevention policies before being stored in a secure AES encrypted archive.
The intended recipients receive notification that a secure message has been sent to them, and are provided instruction for how to login to the Mimecast secure email web portal where they can access the message and download attachments. They can also use the portal and Mimecast's encrypted email services to create new messages for the original sender, creating a bi-directional solution for encrypting email.
