Human are risky
Humans are the main risk on the internet primarily because of their susceptibility to manipulation and error. Social engineering attacks, such as phishing, rely on tricking individuals into revealing sensitive information or clicking malicious links. Despite technological safeguards, human behavior often bypasses these defenses—whether through weak passwords, accidental data sharing, or falling for scams. The internet’s vastness and anonymity make it easy for attackers to exploit trust and curiosity, turning everyday users into unwitting participants in cyber threats.
Another major factor is the intentional misuse of technology by individuals. Hackers, cybercriminals, and even insiders with privileged access can exploit systems for personal gain, sabotage, or ideological motives. These actors often use sophisticated techniques to breach networks, steal data, or disrupt services. Moreover, the rise of misinformation and disinformation campaigns—often driven by human agendas—can destabilize societies, influence elections, and incite conflict. The internet amplifies these risks by enabling rapid, global dissemination of harmful content.
