Newton, Mass., Oct. 27, 2008 – Mimecast, a holistic email management company offering SaaS-based email archiving, continuity and security, and Ferris Research will host a webcast on Wednesday, October 29 at 11:30 a.m. ET to explore whether email archiving through a hosted service (SaaS) or an on-premise solution approach is better for your IT organization. Ferris Research Senior Analyst David Ferris and Mimecast's Senior Vice President and General Manager, Mary Kay Roberto will present the pros and cons of both implementations and how enterprises can select the right approach for their IT organization.

According to Mary Kay Roberto, “Email archiving can be implemented by subscribing to a hosted software-as-a-service (SaaS) or by licensing software and installing it in-house. But which approach is better? Sometimes the choice is clear; more often it is not.  All too often, the IT organization managing email must balance the trade-offs.”

A recent survey of IT professionals by Mimecast found that half of U.S. companies are at risk for legal non-compliance with regard to their corporate email archiving and continuity policies. The webinar will also highlight the need for a holistic approach to email management, which addresses the barriers that IT departments face such as managing crucial email data more cost effectively, securely and efficiently.
