Mike Hedger - Chairman of the Board
Mike Hedger has a track record in building market-leading companies. Previously CEO of market leading email archiving company KVS from its inception in 1999 to its successful sale to Veritas for $225 million in 2004 (now Symantec Enterprise Vault).
His former experience includes a four years as EVP worldwide operations at Forte, building the European business before moving to head up Worldwide Operations which culminated in a successful acquisition by Sun for $700 million.
Mike's earlier career included positions as VP Marketing Operations EMEA for Oracle, Managing Director UK and Northern Europe for INGRES/ASK and successful sales careers at both WANG and IBM.
Peter Bauer - Chief Executive Officer
Peter is a technology marketer and business leader with a successful track record and solid experience in starting, growing and leading flourishing businesses in the information technology sector.
Previously Managing Director of Idion Solutions, a gold-certified Microsoft partner in Cape Town, Peter’s first technology venture, FAB Technologies (Pty) Ltd, was strategically acquired by Idion Technology Holdings in 1998 to provide significant skills, intellectual capital and proprietary software. Fab Technologies, itself a leading Microsoft-certified solution provider and application developer, focused on web and workflow business solutions.
Hailing from South Africa originally, Peter moved to the UK to take advantage of the growing trends towards internet business services.
Neil Murray - Chief Technology Officer
Neil is a leading innovator in the SaaS industry, with over 20 years experience architecting and building leading software products for Internet banking, messaging and rapid application development.
Previously, Neil was the CTO of South African, JSE-listed, Global Technology, a provider of business information solutions, which had bought Pro-Solutions, a software development company Neil helped found in the early 90’s.
Neil’s SaaS experience has precipitated from work on hosted application management through the last 2 decades, starting with data bureau services in the 80’s, migrating through web based application service provision in the 90’s and, more recently, the creation of dedicated SaaS utility grid solutions for Mimecast.
Now settled in the UK, Neil’s responsibilities at Mimecast include the overall technical vision and strategy for the service, the architecture of the Mimecast service platform and leading the development team.
Peter Campbell - Chief Financial Officer
Peter previously worked as CFO for SR Telecom Inc a Nasdaq listed company. His role covered worldwide operations overseeing functions including mergers & acquisitions, operations and financial reporting.
Prior to this Peter was the Corporate Controller at LMS Medical Systems Inc. and also worked with Ernst & Young LLP, Assurance and Advisory Services from 1998-2002 in the High-technology group in Montreal.
Graduating with both a Bachelor of Commerce and Graduate Diploma in Accountancy from Concordia University, Peter holds a Chartered Accountant Designation with the Canadian Order of Chartered Accountants, and is a Certified Public Accountant in conjunction with the University of Illinois.
James Espey - Non-Executive Director
James Espey was previously Executive Chairman of Seagram Distillers plc and President of the Chivas and Glenlivet Group in 1998. Other senior positions including President of United Distillers North America (Guinness plc, 1986-1992); International Distillers & Vintners Ltd (Grand Metropolitan PLC; 1970 to 1986); Executive Chairman of IDV UK Limited (1982 - 1986); IDV Group Marketing Director (1977-1982).
His background is in marketing and brand creation with an MBA and a PhD focused on these disciplines. He currently holds non-executive directorships with Fuller Smith & Turner PLC, A. G. Barr PLC, Whyte and Mackay Limited and Mimecast Limited.
Andrew Jenkins - Non-Executive Director
Andrew Jenkins has been an investment banker since 1995. He is currently a banker at Barclays Private Bank, the Wealth division of Barclays Capital. Prior to joining Barclays he was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Ansbacher Bank & Trust Company where he was Head of Investments (Director) for their Cayman and Bahamas based investment teams from 2001 to 2005. Before managing Private Client investment portfolios he was an Interest Rate Derivative Trader at Rand Merchant Bank in South Africa from 1997-2001.
Andrew holds an undergraduate and postgraduate degree in Economics (Natal University) and a post graduate Diploma in Taxation (Rand Afrikaans University).
Chris Fitzgerald - Chairman of the Audit Committee
As a City lawyer for twenty years Christopher was a Partner in Slaughter and May, primarily advising clients in the financial services sector. He served on the Partnership Board for 9 years as Executive Partner and as Head of Banking practice.
In 1995 Christopher was Group General Counsel on the Board of NatWest Bank. For three years from 2001 he was the first Chairman of the independent committee at the Financial Services Authority which had the exclusive responsibility for exercising all the FSA’s powers to impose disciplinary sanctions. During the same period he was also a Non-Executive Director of The Intercare Group, a FTSE listed pharmaceutical company, serving as Senior Independent Director and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee.
Currently Christopher is a both non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Mimecast. He also holds roles as Non-Executive Director of City Merchants High Yield Trust, a FTSE listed investment company; is a member of the Financial Reporting Council’s Review Panel; and Chairman of the Macfarlane Trust.
