Take the pain out of finding a new Email Security solution with our managed Google Postini migration.
We already move more companies from Google Postini than any other email security vendor – so we know how to make the migration process easy and painless.
All Google Postini customers moving to Mimecast get a simple five-step migration process, which is designed to ensure there is no loss of service or security during the move.
Step one
Contact us. We’ll be delighted to help you transition away from Postini before Google forces you over to its Google Apps platform.
Step two
In a matter of moments we’ll have a Mimecast account setup for you, and we’ll give you all the IP address and DNS information you’ll need. We’ll help you direct your outbound SMTP email through Mimecast.
Step three
Once your email is flowing out through Mimecast we’ll help you connect your Active Directory (AD) to Mimecast. AD is important as it helps us secure your email flow and authenticate your users - your own AD groups are also a handy way of applying policies. This is nothing to worry about; we use a secure LDAPS tunnel and help you configure your firewall to only allow access to and from our specific IP addresses. We’ll do the same with the journal mailbox connector for your Exchange Server.
Step four
Migrating your existing policies and access control lists. This is the part you’re probably dreading; moving your policies and lists to another provider. We know how long it takes to tune these settings, so want to make it easy for you to move to Mimecast. Our Service Delivery Team will work with you to create the same security policies, block and allow lists you have in Postini, but in Mimecast., As a bonus, we’ll even help you create a whole set of new ones Postini could never provide.
Step five
The final stage is moving your MX Records. This is nowhere near as hard as most people think. Again our Service Delivery team will work with you to schedule a time to move your MX Records from Postini to Mimecast, and the team will be available when this takes place to help you along to way. We always recommend closing down your Postini account after you’ve moved your MX records.
