Hardware Engineer
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Define architecture and specifications for mother boards, CPU configurations, chipset, memory, disks, network and I/O
- Engage vendors to ensure product meets specification
- Review schematic and board diagrams
- Bring up new board designs
- Test designs for functionality and power efficiency
- Engage Mimecast Technical teams to ensure proper integration of the hardware in the data center
- Engage software team to ensure application compatibility and performance
- Engage deployments team to ensure smooth product introduction
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical , electronics, or computer engineering required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with electronic design and bring up of server systems
- Must be Familiar with server system architecture of major CPU manufacture
- Must be Familiar with various storage controller types, manufacturers, JBOD configs
- Must be Familiar with various hard drive types, manufacturers
- Experience with high speed board design and board bring-up
- Must be familiar with hardware testing methodologies and have a hands on approach when testing
- Knowledge of Linux
- Detail oriented communication and documentation skills
