Account Manager

Job Purpose 

The successful candidate will be equally comfortable selling directly to end users or through a channel partner.   The candidate will be a highly ambitious self starting individual who understands that their success is their responsibility. They will need to be quick to learn, articulate, personable with a strong attention to detail.  This is a national Account Management role although the individuals will be expected to work from our southern based offices.  The ability to conceptually drive the value of the Mimecast proposition to the existing client base will be required.  The prospective candidate will need to quickly develop competitive vendor knowledge, along with the ability to liaise with multiple departments within the business to manage all client related requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Achieve monthly/quarterly/annual renewal and up-sell business targets
  • Develop a cohesive territory plan for your territory and execute effectively against that plan
  • Partner Development - The individual will be allocated a number of partners that they will be expected to work with and develop to assist in client retention and up-sell. This will involve sales and technical training, marketing & business planning
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and business prospects
  • Business Administration –manage the reporting of the KPI’s* and general Net Suite (CRM) housekeeping
  • Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information
  • Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development
  • Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge and skills

KPI’s are still to be finalised but will include:

  • End user visits
  • Number of net new upgrades / opportunities / increased renewal value added to the pipeline and forecast
  • Prospect Management (responsiveness and success ratios)
  • Pipeline Stats – pipeline movements

Previous Experience / Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 years IT sales experience (ideally within Email/Messaging but not essential)
  • Ideally with experience of both Direct & In-Direct sales roles
